Fall festivals in the midwest

As the leaves begin to turn and the air cools, it’s the Midwest’s time to shine with delightful fall festivals to celebrate the season. We’re proud that several of our modular home communities are in the heart of this beautiful region that really shows its colors in the fall!

From the pumpkin patches to the apple orchards and everything in between, America’s heartland has an impressive lineup of events on the calendar all season long to appeal to all ages. Here’s a virtual tour of some of the Midwest’s most enjoyable fall festivals.

Apple Harvest Festivals

It wouldn’t be autumn without apples, and the Midwest has more than its fair share of apple orchards! Many regions around these orchards host Apple Harvest Festivals, where you can pick your own apples, take a hayride, taste fresh apple cider, and savor mouthwatering caramel apples. The Michigan Apple Fest in Sparta, MI, and the Louisburg Cider Mill’s Ciderfest in Louisburg, KS, are great options for apple enthusiasts.

Oktoberfests

The Midwest is home to lots of German heritage and proudly hosts a variety of Oktoberfest celebrations, featuring traditional food, music, and, of course, plenty of beer. Cincinnati’s Oktoberfest Zinzinnati and Milwaukee’s Oktoberfest are among the most renowned events in the region.

Pumpkin Festivals

No Midwestern Fall would be complete without pumpkins, and that’s why pumpkin festivals are a staple of the Midwest. Marvel at gigantic pumpkins, take part in pumpkin-carving contests, and compete in pumpkin-themed games. You can find pumpkin-centered celebrations across the Midwest, such as the Circleville Pumpkin Show in Circleville, OH, and the Morton Pumpkin Festival in Morton, IL.

Corn Mazes

Getting lost in a corn maze has become a Midwestern Fall tradition. Midwest farmers take pride in designing intricate and challenging corn mazes with themed designs that make the journey exciting and fun. Try your luck with the corn maze at the Richardson Adventure Farm in Spring Grove, IL!

Harvest Festivals

Harvest festivals are often organized by local communities and give visitors a chance to experience the area’s unique charms. They typically feature live music, delicious local fare, arts and crafts vendors, and kids’ activities. The Pumpkin Harvest Festival in Hannibal, Missouri, and the Fall Festival in Galena, IL, are two great examples of small-town celebrations.

However you choose to celebrate the natural beauty of the region, and wherever you live in the Midwest, the area is full of fun fall events that are sure to delight the entire family. These events not only celebrate the season but also reflect this region’s rich culture and traditions!
